Disability Awareness Day 2021
Friday 26th March 2021 was the BDDF Disability Awareness Day.

Introduction to the day
Introduction from Ani Spalding, Chair of BDDF, find out about the work we do at BDDF.
Hear from Maria Miller MP & BDDF Patron, Tony Capon, CEO Basingstoke Voluntary Action (BVA) & watch BDDF awareness videos.
9.30am - 10am
Seated Yoga class with Marzia of Cherry Yoga
Back to basics FREE, mobility improving & mind calming seated Yoga session.
Suitable for all abilities, you just need a hard back chair, comfortable clothing & a drink of water.
10am - 12noon
Helping Hands community Radio (HHCR)
Helping Hands Community Radio will be broadcasting a range of interviews and information to promote awareness of disability.

Friday Tea Break Club
Jan Jack from Laughter-House Comedy Club will introduce our Friday Tea Break Club.
This will not go out as a Live stream, it will be held on Zoom. This is a friendly, safe & fun session for all. We will have chat, quiz & games!

Re-run of Charity Videos
Your second opportunity to catch up on the information videos provided by our local charities, all themed around services for people affected by disability, activities to combat social isolation and to tackle mental health issues.
3pm - 3.30pm
Mindful Drawing with ArtWell Studios
Learn how to do a drawing technique that helps to lower anxiety. All you will need is a piece of paper & a sharp pencil. Free & open to all.
3.30pm - 4.30pm
Support videos for better mental health well-being.
Based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), these videos provide you with the help you need with your mental well-being.
4.30pm - 4.45pm
Children’s Relaxation
This section is for the kids! Kath visits Basingstoke schools to teach the children the importance of learning how to relax.
Grab a comfy place, maybe a pillow and blanket, and tune in to learn how to unwind.
4.45pm - 5pm
Final thoughts….
Chairperson of BDDF, Ani Spalding, will close the event.
