About Us

Basingstoke and District Disability Forum (BDDF) was originally formed in 2008 within the local voluntary sector. We became independent in 2012 with a dedicated trustee board, attaining registered charity status in 2014 (no.1155660).

We are the disability champions of Basingstoke. We support our community through several innovative projects that improve health and wellbeing, while promoting awareness and understanding of the barriers faced through living with a disability.

Our Vision & Mission:

Vision: To create a community that sees the person, values the difference and embraces awareness.
Mission: to facilitate increased awareness, active involvement and healthy promotion of Disabled people and their impairments and health conditions.

BDDF is your local adult disability charity. We offer support for anyone affected by disability within our local community, including Disabled people and their carers, our fellow charities and local businesses. BDDF promotes inclusion and opportunities for anyone living with disability, chronic pain or impairment.

Our aim is to healthily promote both visible and non visible disability and those who live it. By increasing awareness, providing information and bringing people together.

BDDF is a free to join, membership-based organization. Members receive access to all of our services including free activities such as mobility improving yoga and guided walks, a monthly newsletter, signposting service, members’ events and fundraising.

Our Objectives:

Involvement - To improve the involvement and representation of Disabled people and their families/carers within Basingstoke.
Promotion - To promote greater awareness of Disabled people through initiatives and activities that champion inclusivity, understanding and reduce barriers.
Partnerships - To improve partnership working between agencies, both voluntary sector and statutory, who are involved in supporting Disabled people.
